PSALM 27

The righteous man’s confidence is found in God. His ardent desire is to have the spiritual privilege of worshipping God in His temple. He desires this because he knows that there are spiritual blessings in the Lord. His prayer to God is for continual light and salvation. His has confidence that even though his family might forsake him, God will never leave him. Therefore, he begs to be taught the right way to be delivered from all his enemies, and to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. He exhorts others to trust in God, to be of good courage, and to expect others to trust in God and to expect strength for their hearts.

Do you realize that if you ask God to take up residency in your heart that He is able to strengthen and establish you in such a way that your enemies will not be able to prevail against you (vs5)?There will be nothing that can hold you down, that can hinder your walk. You shall be delivered and restored unto your rightful place. You will be able to rejoice and sing praises to the Lord because of His delivering powers (vs. 6). You have a great expectation that God will hear your every plea and will answer when He hears your call. As you go before the throne of grace and pray and cry out to Him, He will answer (vs. 7). We know that God expects us to come before Him and seek His face (vs. 8). He wants us to realize that our family and friends may put us down on this journey but He will be there to pick us up (vs. 10). He has shown us so much goodness through the world that we have become believers and realized that if it had not been for the Lord, we would be saying, “What would have become of me?” (vs. 13).

Remember to find your confidence in God and not in man.
