Living Words of Encouragement

AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP

Intimacy between persons is marked by a close association, acquaintance or familiarity. When we are intimate with someone we do not allow anyone else to get into that relationship. When we are intimate with someone we share ourselves freely. In an intimate relationship both persons have a deep connection with each other, they are uninhibited and fear no rejection. They can be comfortable, free and real with each other and sex is not a part of this relationship.

Living Words of Encouragement BookWe need to know that intimacy and sex are two different things. Sexual relationships can be developed without fully knowing a person however intimacy is only developed through time spent together.

Everyone needs to have a deep personal intimate relationship with God which is developed with time spent in His presence. We need to learn how to apply His Words to our life. We need to learn to love Him with all of our heart. We need to learn to trust God so that He is able to direct our way.

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

God has chosen us to belong to Him and be in relationship with Him. “In Christ we have chosen to be God’s people, because from the very beginning God had decided this in keeping with his plan. And he is the One who makes everything agree with what he decides and wants. We are the first people who hoped in Christ, and we were chosen so that we would bring praise to God’s glory.” (Ephesians 1:11-12) Think about it, when we are in relationship with someone we talk about them a lot, we want everyone to know to know about them. This is the way it should be with God. If we are in true relationship with Him we will want to tell everyone. So, how shall I tell them? How will they know? Will it be by my quoting scripture? Will I need to walk around with a Bible in my hands? No, it will be by the lifestyle we live that people will come to know that we are in relationship with the Father, through the Son and that the Holy Spirit is moving within (invisible) yet manifested (visible) on the outside.

Remember, only what’s in you can come out of you!
