TOWARDS THE PRIZE

When we strive towards something, we exert energy and put forth effort to move from one place to a better place so that we may gain the prize. We exert our mental or physical power under difficulty and often to the point of exhaustion to attain that which we desire. Thus, when one runs a race they must be determined to never give up and through perseverance they will make it to the end.

I was thinking that God wants us to work towards the prize. What is the prize for you? I don’t know, but I can tell you that as long as you stay in God’s presence He will bring you to that point. Also, the great thing about God is that He has an abundance, He is able and He has the power to take each of us towards the prize.

I do not mean that I am already as God wants me to be. I have not yet reached that goal, but I continue trying to reach it and to make it mine. Christ wants me to do that, which is the reason he made me his. Brothers and sisters, I know that I have not yet reached that goal, but there is one thing I always do. Forgetting the past and straining toward what is ahead, I keep trying to reach the goals and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to the life above. (Philippians 3:12-14)

We need to allow ourselves to move from a place of complacency, to be stretched, to be extended towards the point that we become more and more like Christ every day. We must press forward with our Holy desires, our hopes and our aspirations. In pressing on, we are dropping off anything that would easily try to weigh us down.

Remember stay with God and He will lead you to the prize.
