GOD’S LOVE IN ACTION

Love is an intense affection for another person based on personal or familial ties, based on shared experiences or interests. When you love someone you adore them, you cherish them and you devote yourself to them.

Can we measure, conceptualize and do we realize how much God loves? I believe most of us can’t fully comprehend God’s love for us.

“For God so loved us that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) His love is tremendous “For this is love, not that we loved God, but He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (I John 4:10) Think about how many of us would give up our child to make someone else free. I would surmise that none of us would.

There is nothing that we can do that can shake God and keep Him from loving us. When we are in relationship with God, we see His hand moving on our lives and feel Him loving us more and more each day, thus our faith in Him grows and abounds. We begin to have much peace in our lives due to fellowship with Him. “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)

We can’t always rely on man’s love but we can always be assured that God’s love is sincere and true. “We know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in Him.” (I John 4:16)

God’s love is able to cover our many shortcomings (sin). We only need to come to God and give ourselves over to Him to begin a new work so we will be able to stand strong in His power. “So give yourselves completely to God. Stand against the devil, and the devil will run from you. Come near to God, and God will come near to you.

(I Peter 4:7-8a) 

Remember, God loves you more than you can love anyone, including yourself
