Living Words of Encouragement
REMEMBER WHAT GOD HAS DONE
Sometimes our lives become so hurried that we can easily let God take a back seat. We are often moving so fast that we don’t stop to recall or remember what God has done for us. We find ourselves caught up in things and not in GOD. During this hurriedness in our lives, we often forget to thank God for Who He is and what He does for us, through us and around us.
We should learn to “Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.”(I Samuel 12:24) When we remember what He has done for us, we can begin to count the blessings that we have received. Thus, I am reminded of a song that we used to sing in church that says “Count your blessings name them one by one, count your blessings see what God has done, count your blessings name them one by one, count your many blessing see what the Lord has done.”
God swore to our forefathers that He would keep us and show mercy toward us and bless us through His love. “The Lord your God will keep with you the covenant and the mercy which he swore to your fathers. And He will love you and bless you. (Deuteronomy 7:12-13).
In our hurriedness, we need to always remember God and what He has done. We should always take the time to thank Him for His amazing, great and gracious love. It would be grand if we started each day remembering God and thanking Him before we even opened our eyes in the morning. You know what I’m talking about, when you realize you are awake but your eyes are still closed take this time to begin thanking Him for His blessings. Just lie there a few minutes and think on Him and meditate on His goodness.
Remember, the best way to start the day is focused on God.
