PROMISES & CONDITIONS
Sometimes I believe people think they can ask God for anything and He’s just going to do it for them. Just because we are saved does not mean that God is going to do everything we ask of Him. However, there are somethings that He will definitely do, if we do our part.
 In the Bible, we can find many promises that God made to His people. However, many of those promises have conditions attached. This means there’s a stipulation with the promise. You have to do something, put forth some effort, for it to come to pass.
Some examples of promises with conditions:
1. Joshua 1:8
- Promise – You will be prosperous and successful
- Condition – don’t let the Book of the law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night then you will be careful to do everything written in it.
2. Proverbs 3: 5-6
- Promise – He will direct your path
- Condition – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him
3. Matthew 6:33
- Promise – All things shall be added unto you
- Condition - Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness
4. Romans 10:9-10
- Promise - You will be saved
- Condition - Confess with thy mouth and believe in thy heart that God raised Jesus from the dead
God has so much planned for us. God wants us to be prosperous and successful but we have to be in line with His Word.
Remember, there are some things you can do for yourself, then God will do the rest!
