Living Words of Encouragement
Prayer that Raised the Dead
A man was sick and needed healing
His sister went to pray and called on Jesus
Jesus heard but said He will live
So the people continued in prayer
The man later died from his illness
Then Jesus came along and proved His Fullness
He spoke to the man who was dead for four days
Jesus spoke and call the dead by the name, Lazarus
The man though bound came alive
He arose and so goes
The testimony in the power of prayer.

Do we fully understand the power of prayer? Do we really know what God is able to do when we go before Him in prayer? Can we lift up prayer that will raise the dead? I would surmise that we can. Read the following passage. (John 11:1-11)
In vs. 3 it says, “He whom you love is sick.” Nothing could be simpler, or more modest, than this prayer. They do not say that Jesus needs to come to them and heal Lazarus. They believe that Jesus was able to heal Lazarus from a distance. They believe that Jesus would show forth His power and goodness to His friend. However, we see that Jesus let them know that Lazarus was going to be all right. What a shock to them when Lazarus died. When Jesus heard His friend had died, He said he was only sleeping. When Jesus returned to Bethany, he told the people that for their sakes it was good that he was not there when Lazarus died. The fullness of God’s power would not be revealed if the man were raised as soon as he died. Some people would have probably thought that the man was not really dead, maybe in a comatose state. Jesus said in vs. 15 that there would have been no occasion to manifest the glory of God to them and to establish them in their faith. God wants us to trust in Him and believe that whatever we ask He is able to do.
Remember, it doesn’t matter how long it takes, God can come through for you. Alleuia!!
